What is a Virtual Warehouse?
A virtual warehouse, or “warehouse”, compute resources in Snowflake having one or more compute clusters. It is required for running select queries or DML operations. A virtual warehouse is available in two types:
- Standard
- Snowpark-optimized
Key Points to remember
- Warehouse are defined by size like t shirt size like x-small, small, medium, large and so on 6x large.
- It can be started or stopped at any time
- It can be resized and this can be done while running a query also.
